The International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) currently represents a global network of 61 international Fashion and Textile institutions from 28 countries. As an established member, Nottingham Trent University is enormously proud of our association with a Foundation committed to promoting diversity, knowledge sharing and intercultural understanding. Through an inclusive approach, IFFTI shapes, develops and supports future fashion and textile programmes, and research practices. Against a backdrop of unprecedented change in the conventional fashion system, it is time to re-imagine a new era in fashion.
FASHION RE-IMAGINED
Imagining and re-imagining have a temporal dimension, looking forward but also casting back; measuring ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ fashion through time; active and reflective. Our central theme for IFFTI 2022 Conference, Fashion Re-imagined, seeks to re-interpret and re-wire an unsustainable fashion system, through new ways of working, thinking, and practising. Designed to stimulate and inspire, the subthemes include:
What is fashion?
When is Fashion?
Where is Fashion?
Mediating Fashion
Doing fashion
